hey guys
so i applied to a BSN nursing program at my university. i had high hopes of getting into the program for spring 2009. so a few days ago i recieved my rejection letter, and felt awful. The nursing program at my school is very competitive and only accpets 40 students. I feel kinda bad cause it seems that everybody that i know is being accepted into nursing school. I know i am only 21 but it seems that i will be the oldest one in the program
so for people that have been rejected..how did it make you feel? what did you do in that extra time? also for those who have got in how long did it take to get accpeted?
so now i am in a situation...i have finished all of my pre requirements. so what do i do while waiting to get in? should i retake some classes and raise my science gpa? what have you guys done?
Lots of good ideas! Also consider taking courses that you could knock out for your electives... things like a foreign language or ethics or statistics or something. Working as a CNA is also a great idea. And especially this... apply to any and every program near you. Somebody, sometime will accept your application.
Much good luck and success to you...
I was pretty devastated when I got my first rejection letter. I moped about for a few days, stayed in bed a lot, started to evaluate if this is what I really wanted. And it was, so... I got my butt back to school and reapplied, two two different programs and ended up getting into both. Which turned out to be MUCH better. They were BSN programs vs, the ASN program I got rejected from. So keep your chin up, don't let one letter bring you down. If you REALLY want it, it can happen.
Good luck!!!

You can always become a CNA at a local hospital, you will gain experience and most hospitals will help pay for school.
