Nursing Students General Students

Today, my mailman brought me my 3rd "We regret to inform you..." letter for the ASN program this fall. I have 2 more to go and I am certain I will receive at least one more of these letters. I am getting really down here. I go on the 15th to take the PSB exam to try to qualify for the LPN program in fall. Since my alternate plans are not working out, I am going to the "alternate to the alternates" plan!!

I guess I just needed to vent a bit, I cant tell you how each one of these letters hurts just a little more than the last. I scored low on the NET, which is KILLING me in the application process. As far as pre reqs go, I have a 3.5 gpa, with only 2 left. Guess I will finish those up and move on from there.

Hints? Hopes? Prayers?

I'm so sorry! Is there anyway for you to take that test over again (NET I think you said it was?)?

Keep trying! Good luck to you!

If I had it to do over again, I would go straight for the BSN. Some friends of mine actually enjoyed nursing school by not having to cram like we do in the ADN program. We just had two students that came into our program with a 4.0 drop out with only 2 semesters left. Learning the material isn't the hard part, it's trying to "cram" it all in within a short period of time that is difficult.

I also live in Indy, and we really don't have many BSN programs around here. The few that are considered generic track are selective by accepting students that completed most of their pre-reqs there first, and the rest will only take ASN-BSN transitional students. I would love to take that BSN route if it were made more available!

Lori, don't forget about that LPN option, too. I know it's not your first choice, but either way, RN is what you'll be later!
