Regis University Accelerated BSN - JAN 2016

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to make a thread for Regis' Accelerated BSN program starting January 2016! It's about a month before the deadline but I needed to make sure NursingCAS was able to verify everything before! Just wanted to see if anyone else applied! Does anyone know if they will be conducting interviews?

I'm worried my application is not competitive enough, if any current regis students have any feedback about the program please let us know!

Stats:

Undergrad GPA 3.45

Pre-req 4.0

But still missing Nutrition (Taking this summer), Developmental Psychology (Taking this summer), and Religious Studies (Taking Fall)

Experience with volunteering at the hospital and doctor's office

Hello! I just came across your post and wanted to reach out and see if you submitted your application? I was accepted to the Accelerated Program at Regis for January 2016, and am debating between that and another program I was also accepted into. Trying to reach out and get advice from other students! I'm finishing my last 3 credit hours for Religious Studies this semester.

Hi! Yes I did submit my application and got in. I gave up my seat though because I got accepted into a masters program and I felt that would be a better choice for me. What other program were you accepted too? I know if I didn't get into a masters program I would have chosen Regis out of all the accelerated BSN programs I got in because I absolutely love CO!

Congratulations on getting into a master's program! I was also accepted at University of Colorado Denver, so just trying to decide between the two! I really love Regis though, the campus is beautiful! Congrats again on your master's program; too bad I wouldn't have met you at Regis but best of luck to you in the future! :)

May I ask what your GPA was both cumulative and pre-req GPA? My cumulative is a 3.06 and my pre-req is 3.75. I'm really nervous:(Thanks a million and best of luck in your program.

Hi All,

Anyone out there who might be able to give me any feedback. I just got a denied from Boulders ABSN program, so I am really nervous that I also wont get in to Regis (Jan 2016). My cumulative is a 3.06 and my pre-req GPA/Science GPA is 3.75. I'm really nervous. Has anyone got in with a GPA like that? Thanks a million!!

Lauren

I would also like some feedback about how competitive Regis is...I have a 2.75 with a very strong upward trend and 3.5 on prereqs but I realize my gpa is not competitive at face value

Would Denver School of Nursing be more of a possibility based on my low gpa? It is a longer program but I do not mind as I plan on working in Colorado for a while (im an out of state student)

I would try, I was told they take in consideration the science GPA and work exprience quite a bit when they make a decision. I would apply regardless. I just got into a school where my counselor told me i had almost zero chance because of my TEAS score. I now wish i applied to more schools because I may have got into more schools. Dont give up, apply to a bunch of schools, you will get in somewhere you want to go:) Best of luck.

Hi, I am in the same spot as you--trying to decide between the UCAN and Regis program and really am stuck. I feel like I know a lot more about the UCAN program just from the website, and the interview day. Was wondering if you have any info about Regis or similarities/differences between the two. I'm super stuck! And congrats on all the acceptances :)

Hey all! I just created a Facebook page for anyone who is attending Regis' ABSN program, starting January 2017 (as a way to get to know each other before the program starts)!

If you search "Regis ABSN Program January 2017" on Facebook, it should come up! My name is Anna Beets if you're looking for a name to recognize!

:)

Hey KKRM30,

I chose Regis because I have heard such wonderful things about the program. The students are super supportive of one another, the professors are incredibly loyal to their students, and the school has an incredible reputation in the community. On top of that, you don't have class on Saturdays and you get to bid for your clinicals, which gives you some say in your schedule/what happens.

All in all - I'm really excited to start my nursing education in such a supportive place! Hope that is helpful!

Thank you so much! I really have been leaning towards Regis and didn't really expect to get into the UCAN program so when I did get in I felt a little conflicted and wanted to make sure I made an educated decision! I'm very excited to start and hopefully meet some people before getting to work! I'm joining the Facebook group now--thank you!!!
