I am going to start substituting for my local school district, which is small and suburban. My on-boarding and orientation starts next week. They are going to have me shadow one of the nurses for a few days (I actually have a lot of faith that they'll do a good job training me, as I know some of the people from town and they're competent), but I was wondering -- does anybody have suggestions for a book that is sort of an overview or intro to school nursing? I like to read and I like to prepare for things ahead of time. Amazon has many reference books listed but it's hard to tell what's good, so do any of you have a favorite?

This is the book I see most often recommended.

Check with your state association...they may have an applicable state manual.
