Recruiting English-speaking nurses from the Philippines.

Nurses General Nursing

I'll retract and disappear.

Since a lot of users here are from overses (moi, fe), it would be nice to think about how and what you write down in this forum.

I don't think it is very appreciated by all the foreign nurses here, how you think we get to our RN.

Of course there will be black sheep, but they are everywhere.

Take care, Renee

over the past 3-4 yrs i've worked with several girls from the phillipines.....hardworking and dedicated are two words that come to mind...a privilage to work with them!

"girls"????

Hope the "girls" were legal.

I recall during the last shortage in the 70's a lot of nurses were recruited from the Phillipines and India.

Hope they send some more our way!

i work with a guy from the phillipines...and he is one of the best nurses on the unit. compassionate, intelligent, great charge nurse (the best), a team player (can't say no to anyone), and assertive enough to tell doctors off for himself or his peers! he looks out for the underdogs. his wife is also a NICU nurse, and i have heard from a friend, that works in NICU, that she is the same way. i don't know why some nurses are worried that we are recruiting nurses from other countries...they bring a whole new perspective, culture, and more compassionate caring to the units and floors. now, they are recruiting from puerto rico....bring it on!! I've also heard that they are great go-getters!! i won't "retract and dissappear"....

by the way, this nurse was elected, by his peers, for clinical nurse excellence...the highest award in the hospital for an RN.

Hear, Hear ICUBecky! I agree.

We are nurses first and foremost.......! Country of Origin?...well.....that's only a side issue, really, that is if it is really an "issue" to begin with....I think we all have better things to do....
