has any of you got the feeling that a recruiter is giving you a hard time with regards to work assigments?....because i just had that feeling..ive been emplyed by an agency for a month now, have told them my available days and the facility that i want to work in but they keep calling me with assignments on the days that im not available and the facility that i have no experience with...
..and i didnt receive any orientation as to what to expect being an agency nurse even after telling them that its my first time to be one..and my badge was just given the day im supposed to work an assignment that was cancelled eventually..when i told the recruiter that i didnt have one she was shocked as if it was my fault that i dont have a badge yet and has no orientation yet...is being an agency nurse really this difficult???

Not sure where you are, but usually someone in staffing handles the assignments for a daily per diem agency. The recruiter just initially hires the nurses or interviews them.
This is what I keep trying to tell others. With agency work, there is usually no orientation time, perhaps an hour or two, you need to feel quite comfortable with what you are doing to just be able to jump in to the assignment. Do not expect an orientation, your agency may just give you a packet as to what the important facts are for the facility.
You just need to be vocal with the agency that you are not available on those days and only call you when you give them dates in advance.
