Recovery in Indiana/IPRP

Nurses Recovery

Hi, I just signed an RMA with IPRP (formerly ISNAP) in Indiana. I have 2 alcohol related criminal cases and texted positive for etg at my assessment. I feel completely overwhelmed by the requirements...3 self help meetings a week, 20 UDS a year, quarterly reports etc. My case manager gave me no guidance on how to do everything - she just gave me a ton of paperwork and said to ask if I have any questions.

Does anyone know how often etg is tested (like every time, or just sometimes)? And what happens if my first drug test is positive for ETG? Do they really expect someone to quit cold turkey at the drop of a hat? I'm so worried that I'll have my RMA extended or lose my job. Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

I was involved with ISNAP over 10 yrs ago and alcohol was my issue. They tested for ETG with every UDS.

Yep, overall, I'm hearing most people getting 5 years of "monitoring."  This means abstaining from alcohol or any other medication other than Tylenol/IBU.  I don't even take cough syrup anymore or pseudoephedrine if I have sinusitis and can't breathe through my nose.  I don't even bother going to my PCP to ask for things because it will just cause more headaches for monitoring and I just slug through colds in the Winter.

It's ridiculous - everyone gets a "diagnosis" and I think half of them don't even meet the criteria for Alcohol use disorder or SUD.  Then they use that diagnosis to say that "5 years is the gold standard for monitoring and do AA and do this and that and etc"

Any positive Urine ETG, no matter how slight, will be a HUGE problem.  Even the 0.0 beers are not allowed and says in the contract.  They won't cause a positive ETG, but I'm sure people use that excuse.  I'm not sure what happens after a slight positive ETG - secondary/confirmatory testing?  I don't want to find out!
