Hello,
I am currently a Nurse Resident in a short stay unit. I am planning to transfer soon to hopefully women’s health. We are able to transfer after 6 months in the residency program. I spoke to a career advisor and she said she would send my resume to the recruiter. I wanted to shadow before transferring just to have a feel of what the unit is like. However, because of COVID it is not possible at the moment, you need to be considered for the position first. Any recommendations or tips you have for me would be deeply appreciate it! I have always been intrigued by women’s health, but I am of course a new nurse and I am terrified of not liking it or not being ready for a transfer? please help! Thank you!

What exactly is the unit? Inpatient or outpatient? Postpartum? Antepartum? GYN surgery? Will you be responsible for well babies?
