RECIPROCITY? from California to other state

Published

:idea:hi! I am foreign graduate and plnning to take my NCLEX by next year, I chose CA simply because the state does not require for a CGFNS.

but I learned that: for example I passed Nclex for CA I would still have to provide the state for SSN# ( this a no. proves that you already have USvisa), however the state will wait until 3 years but after that and havent provided them a SSN# your record will be desroyed.

My question is " Can i have a reciprocity before my files will be destroyed in 3 years time?or do i still have to provide them an SSN#?

Please if anyone there that can provide an answer...will be a big help!:confused::confused:

Without a SSN in 3 years or an extension (not always guaranteed) Ca will destroy your file including your NCLEX results. Before your 3 years we recommend you apply to another state for licensure and arrange with Ca to forward your NCLEX results. Because Ca will not issue you with a license you can not endorse and will have to meet the board of nursing requirements for foreign trained nurse

Plus to add that you will most likely need CGFNS anyway, because most other States want it (CES or CES full, some CGFNS Cert), plus they are the only ones who issue the Visascreen Certificate.
