Receiving an C in AP I and AP II

Published

i made a c in anatomy last semester and it looks like i will be getting a C this semester in physiology. I have an A and 2 B's in my other classes. last semester i had an A and 2 B's along with the AP I class. Do you think i still have a shot?

I know they say AP I and II is used to weed out the nursing applicants but what if i repeated AP I and II and made an A in both. I will be the first to admit my study habits arent great when it comes to science. I even thought about getting one of those Anatomy and Physiology for Dummies books thinking it could help me. People ask me why i want to be a nurse. Its because I want to help people. Its not because of money and never has been. I dont know what it is about science but the only things that stick are the things that i have done interactively. I'm a tactile learner so I have to be engaged. Every class I'm taking right now I'm passing with an A. they are non-science courses though. I thought maybe if I retake AP II with the teacher I had for AP I it might make a difference.

It's great that you want to help people. But if you're science (A&P) foundation is not strong, you will not be of much help.

Retake those classes. If you got a C in them, you honestly shouldn't expect to get that much higher in nursing classes.

I wanted to say this. I typed and then deleted bc I couldn't word it right. I just feel if u aren't Interested in this subject u can't really expect to enjoy or retain info later on. Bc it only becomes more in depth and vigorous.

I am not sure that having C's in A&P are a predictor of how well you will do in nursing school. You can try to retake but your previous grades will follow you. See what is required for school. You may just need to work harder in school. If this is what you really want its always possible it's all about what you are willing to invest to make it happen. Good luck!
