i haven't received my result

I'm from the Philippines and took California NCLEX-RN last November 23, 2007 here in Manila. My three friends that also took the exam same date as mine received their results last December. I waited but until now, i haven't received it. Based on their pamphlet, test results will be send via snail mail within 4 weeks. In my case, it is already 3 months.

The sad part is, California has no quick result. Is there any way that I can see my result?

I already called California Board of Nursing last February and asked for another copy of my result but until now, i haven't received it. One thing that confused me, the operator said that I must apply for a US Social Security Number? How can I do that? I'm still in the Philippines and still clueless with my result.. (My boyfriend passed the NCLEX-RN exam last December and the letter said that he must apply for US Social Security Number. In that case, did I also passed the exam)

Welcome to the site, moving this to the International forum as more appropriate.

With retrogression you are looking at years before, if lucky due to the high demand from your country, that you move to the US with a valid work permit. I suggest a good read in the forum especially in threads on California. Try using the search facility as easy to use.

You do not receive a license from CA when you pass the exam, only a letter stating that you have passed. The letter states that a license will be issued when they receive a SSN# from you and that you have three years to present it to them in.

Just contact them and ask them to send the letter to you again. That is the only way that you will be able to get your results.

So does it mean I also passed the NCLEX because when I talked to a person of California Board of Nursing, he said to me that I must apply for Social Security Number? Why will he said that if I failed right? And you said that it has 3yrs validity, what if I can't apply for SSN? Does it mean I need to take the exam again or there is a renewal for that?

It does not meas that you passed the exam, they cannot tell you anything about that over the phone so do not try to infer anything by what they stated. They need to send you the letter again, nothing more than that.

There is no way for you to apply for the SSN#, you are unable to get it until you are in the US on a visa that will permit you to work and ready to start work with the green card in hand.

There is much already written on this very topic on what to do since even if you will pass the exam, there is no license issued to you in the first place.

Try calling them up & ask them to send you a letter again containing the result of your exam. Try sending them a message through FAX also.
