Help!!!!

I received a complaint sent to Board of Nursing. Thankfully I have nursing insurance. Has anyone ever reported possible abuse and neglect to DSS and then have to endure and deal with a complaint made against you by the person you reported? What were the outcomes?

I agree with fergus51 and fab4fan -- many nurses never stay at a single job for four years in their entire career! It is considered better form to leave early on (within the first few months) than to stay 6 mos - 1 yr and then quit -- if you leave right away, it is easy to make the case that you realized right away the job wasn't right for you, and you cut the losses for both you and the employer.

Protect yourself and your license, keep records of EVERYTHING (even if it's just notes in a personal journal -- date everything!), report everything you can to all the relevant state and federal agencies, and good luck --

What a great organization...sorely needed!! Wish they had been around for me 7 yrs ago when I had to deal with a retaliatory report to the Texas BON!

Thanks for posting those links! :D

The BON dismissed the complaint on my license. Thanks to all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. It was quite an experience. It cost $2300 in attorney fees. Thank goodness for Nursing Service Organization Insurance.

Get out of there girl! Like one of the replies implied.....Better to have no job right now than no license forever! You can get another job now, but never put your license in jeopardy! Also this place sounds like 1 lawsuit after another just waiting to happen. Also, did you ever hear that nurses who carry personal are more likely to be named in a suit than nurses who don't?

Go, Run to the nearest exit!!!!!!
