So when i first started college i didn 't do too well in those introductory courses like math, developmental psychology and some others. So right now as I am getting serious to want to go into nursing school i am retaking some of those which i didn't pass. GPA is hard to repair but I am lucky in the fact that my school uses the better grade in my GPA. What do you recommend for a GPA. I have the important science classes left like biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology 1 and 2, microbiology, introductory statistics plus not to mention I have to take a developmental math. Do you believe that my GPA will go up to the necessary GPA. My program requires a 3.0 GPA and right now my GPA is at a 2.69.

You could always pad it by taking some filler easy classes, maybe during summer when you likely won't be doing those science courses. The sciences are most important and you should really concentrate on them to keep your grades as high as possible.

My experience with the nursing schools that I've applied to is that they take your pre-requisite grades into greater consideration than your overall GPA. I didn't know what I wanted to do the first time I went to community college, and my grades suffered for it. Despite having a lower GPA, I was able to pull A's in all of the prerequisite classes this time around. It doesn't look so hot if you have to retake your sciences over and over, but if you can bring your grade up in all those core pre-requite classes this coming semester, it will definitely look better when they take your application into consideration.
