Really New York Presbyterian Really?

I cannot stand this hospital's online application process. I'm just going to walk in. I even did my clinicals there too! Everytime I apply I get a rejection email/notice. So since I don't meet 110% of the requirements a recruiter/HR agent won't even look at my resume? And I see they have plenty of job openings. So you mean even as a nurse with ER experience I don't qualify for any ICU or even OR?

Is this the new trend in nursing? Only those with x,y,z experience can apply to x,y,z job openings. A nurse is a nurse, yes you want to find the best candidate, but the best candidate might not have extensive experience in that particular area. When will employers learn? What is on a piece of paper is NOT everything!

Don't hire me... whatevs, you've lost an excellent candidate!

*and yes I will still keep applying lol*

Hey, Go to an open interview. Just look at their career website. They always have open interviews for experienced RNs. Good luck.

I though it was just me! Every now and then I will try and apply again and get the same message, very discouraging. Regarding the open interviews, I usually see on their site that they are having interview days but it always specifies that they are not open. Guess I will just have to be on the lookout.

Good luck in your job search

You still have to pre-qualify for their open interview day which completely defeats the purpose IMO! What's the point of having an open house day when you are still looking with a microscope. Better to just look through resumes and interview who you want.

Maybe there's an overwhelming volume of applicants and there's a computer system that automatically sends those rejection letters to some and acceptance letters others. Too many resumes/application being submitted for them to manually review them all. so just because you get a rejection letter doesn't necessary means it was because you weren't qualified.

Specializes in They know this too!.

With the lay offs they just did before the holidays you are competing with the experienced nurses and New Grad surplus.

I am the same way you are, "Oh well their loss". I get from places call me back in a year. "Um yeah okay, NOT!". It is quite discouraging especially since you do have experience. :uhoh21:
