Really need information about RN

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi,

I am a man, working in aircraft engineerfing field.

My wife told me that I should go back to school for RN nurse.

I do a lot of research, most of private school offer accelerate BSN, but expensive. Then I think that i will go to public school where in southern california, they only offer accelerate MSN

I am so confused with all my thought about this career.

I think that nurse will be secure job, quite money but I am not passionate to care of patient. I like to do office work.

Any advice, pl.

i read many forum about doc yell at nurses,,etc then i am more confused

Need help please.

thanks:banghead:

My friend,

first of all.

No doctor yells at nurse.(There is professionalism and code of conduct in every organization.)

I am sure you are looking around for second career.

Do not enter in a profession unless you know what exactly you are getting into.

My advise - go to your local hospital and request if you can volunteer on a floor as a help person and observe a nurse in action in various departments for at least 1 week.

Think about this time as your investment time and make your decision.

There is nothing like practical experience.

Good Luck.

check out:

when i could no longer do the long hours of standing required as a nurse i started studying medical coding (part of insurance and billing) and health information management (previously called medical records) which is part of the business end of healthcare. it pays very well if you are not working at the level of a clerk because it requires knowledge and constant updating yourself on the medicare laws which drives all insurance and payment/billing.

" But I am not compassionate to care of patient" Do not go into nursing for the money. Yes it is good, but you really have to be compassionate. Maybe your wife could do it, since she is the one who suggested it.
