what are the real AST &ALT levels for nclex?

Published

I have been studying saunders and now kaplan as well as other online resources and they all disagree with the levels. in Kaplan it says the AST & ALT are 8-40u, in Saunders it says that AST 5-40 and ALT is 7-56 and I got other numbers online..lol...does anyone know what numbers the Nclex is expecting? or a consistent number range for the both...test in 7 days. thanks

NCLEX is more about critical thinking rather than exact numbers. I never saw borderline lab values, they were either smack in the middle of normal or exaggerated off. You will not find hard lab value norms for labs. It all depends on age, sex, and school of thought. Thats why references always differ.

When I took NCLEX nearly all of it concerned "What is your priority intervention?" and "Which patients should you see first?"

Ill focus on those topics as well...doing a ton of kaplan tests online. thx for your input
