Hey guys,
I just took my Hesi test....eeek, I needed an 870, got an 825. I needed some help in math, but that I can study. What I'm worried about are the delegation, cultural competence, mngmt of care questions. Things like, the RN has 4 patients, who comes 1st, or what can/can't be delegated to an LPN or UAP.
I did great on the med-surg,OB, psych parts, but I am at a loss with the stuff mentioned above, and I know it's important, I really need to understand the THEORY behind the answers....
I have to take the test in July, last chance or 2 years of nursing school down the tubes. I'm not a young chicky anymore, and don't know if I could go through school all over again. Any ideas, like good books, or cd's? any advice would be much appreciated!

Several have said that Saunders (big blue book) is the way to go as far as studying for the HESI. Start now, work on it an hour a day. Start with the areas you know you struggle with and go from there. Make sure to answer each question and then read the rationals for each question regardless if you got it right or wrong. That only reinforces the information.
I use Saunders to study for my unit tests in class and it has by far helped me more than any other review book.
Good luck!!!!

I agree with the Saunders book, I have used it throughout my program so far. I have also used it for studying for the HESI at the end of each semester. It gives the rationale for each answer as well, so it helps process why one answer is better.
I know a lot of people say good things about this book on here too!
Good luck,

I also use Saunders which is a great tool. In case you didn't know, if you have a PDA, Saunders also comes in that format...great for taking it with you and study any time you have an extra few minutes. Good luck!

For the parts of the test you are worried about (delegation things like that) A really GREAT book I have found usefull and I feel I am pretty well versed in the parts (at least when I do nclex reviews I usually get 90-100% of the questions right regarding this area). The book is called Apply Nursing Process A Tool for Critical Thinking. It is written by Rosalinda Alfaro-LeFevre. It is a short read and very useful. Good Luck! I have faith in ya!
