Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2011

Published

Hello all,

It's almost that time of year again! I'm applying to the 2011 class which the application period begins this November 1st. We have two months to prepare our applications! Anyone else applying? I've seen the support the last year's class has with this sort of thread and I figured there should be one started for 2011 applicants. What is your TEAS score? GPA? A&P I grade? What were the averages that the 2010 applicants had and they are now starting the fall 2010 program?? Good luck!!!

No letter today from Capital :( I cannot stand this waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Making me even craizer today knowing that other people got theirs!!!!

At capital community college--it was my first choice.

They accepted 20 people off the waitlist for the 10-11 year at Gateway. I was waitlisted for Gateway #36

As #21 on that wait list, I am really glad I didn't know that last year. I might have completely lost it!!!

Just got my acceptance letter to NVCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOO HOOO

Just got my letter, accepted at NVCC! Thank God! Now I can breath again.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

All my paperwork is dated March 28th LOL

Could you please tell me what is your stats, GPA, TEAS and A&P? Thanks.

Sure, but I don't know that it'll help much at this point...

4.0, 90.6, A

123esther, are you trying for Gateway?

In for Gateway in the Spring. Wish it was the fall but I'll take it! :):yeah:

I will try gateway next year because i still have few more classes to go. The reason i ask for stats is that by knowing the stats of those who are waitlisted and accepted, i can kind of have a rough idea of what are the stats for the nursing acceptance. I was told that those with GPA 3.4 , A&P A and TEAS > 80 had a chance. In my opinion, it is good to know since coumminty nursing department don't release this info. I know Southern CT University does for its accelerated program.

chriskro,

good on ya! I guess I'll see you there. Only 9 short months from now:bluecry1:

WAY more openness is needed from the CC level. Students really need to be able to plan for all eventualities, and not knowing the likely stats that one needs to be accepted is a gaping hole in the system.

123esther, I hear you, keep working hard!

Personally, I think that the CC's like having as many people apply as possible. They don't ever mind releasing how many people applied to each program- just what their stats are... makes you wonder.

I am waitlisted again this year (3rd time in a row) for Gateway.

I'm going to Southern, I figure I could've finished my Bachelors Degree in the time I've spent waiting for Gateway AND graduated with a BSN.

Good Luck to all who have been selected for the program! And Congrats!!!
