Re: Is There Any Lvn-to-RN Schools In Philippines?

Published

I apologize I made a typo. I meant I would like to to the LVN to RN transition in Philippines. I already have my LVN license that I got from US. Is this possible?

hi.. i don't think you can turn ur LPN to RN since LPN is under TESDA while RN is under CHED. LPN is not accredited here in the PHilippines that's why most LPN graduates here have no choice but to look for jobs outside the country... besides, the philippine nurses association is totally against LPNs here... i know some who finished LPN here then later on decided to continue with BSN. however, they had to take the subjects again since the school did not credit her units from the LPN school she graduated from...

I'm curious how one would get clinical experience as a LVN in the Philippines. In nursing school that is, if they don't utilize LVN's in the Philippines, how do they expect to get a job as a LVN? Having your LVN doesn't qualify for you to obtain a working visa in the US. Can you get a working visa in Canada with a LVN? LVN (aka RPN in Canada) I believe is a 2 year program in Canada. How long is the LVN in the Philippines?

some LPN school in the Philippines offer it 2 years, some offer it 1 year. LPN graduates here can gain experience not as Practical Nurses but as Nursing assistants. i know some hospitals hire LPN graduates to work as Nursing attendants but their practice is very limited. they will not be allowed to administer meds, etc...

do u know of anyone who can help LPN graduates from the pHilippines apply for canada.... or other countries like New Zealand or Australia...

Without a license as a LPN then getting a job will be hard in another country. Canada, Australia, NZ require the person to be licensed in their home country or country where trained.
