Hi everyone! I am up for consideration for a full time RN position at a clinic with a primary care focus.
I am preparing to re enter the nursing field after about two years at home with my very small children. Before leaving my last position to become a stay at home mom, I had worked in dialysis for about three years, mostly in a chronic hemodialysis clinic but I have performed dialysis treatments in the hospital setting as well. Before that I worked in a small town ER for about a year. I am posting to see if anyone here has any advice for a nurse coming back after an absence, but also for someone entering into primary care. What are the skills that I should review or develop before starting work in the clinic setting? The job does offer an extensive orientation, but I would like to be as prepared as possible. My ultimate goal is to become an FNP, and this clinic has expressed interest in helping me pursue my masters.
