RCC Nursing Fall 2016 possible applicants

Published

Hello all! Please respond if you are seeking a support group regarding applying in Fall 2016.

Thank You Sammy!

I wanted to ask you for more advice if you don't mind.

Is their anything we should be doing as we wait for intake day?

Such as looking for certain books online?

Or studying/going over anything at the moment?

Thank you in advance for any advice!

a fb page would be awesome to open...

I got in as well! Can't wait to start this journey!

I feel like I was jipped. I got 75 points for sure. I think they messed up but I can't get ahold of anybody  and I should have at least gotten put on the alternate list. If someone with 65 points got in, I should have.

@serna the most important thing for now will be working on the compliance requirements for health and background. They will go over this stuff in detail at intake. Here's the sheet from last year if you want to get an idea of what's required http://www.rccnursebackground.com/RiversideCCSchoolofNursingInitialFinal.pdf

In the meantime, gather your immunization record and make an appointment with the health office. They will pre-screen to see what immunizations are still needed. They also can sign off on your paperwork for the stuff they verify.

Also, it's my understanding that all of the books that are required were not used the 1st year. I believe it was the coursepoints and 3 other books that were absolutely needed. I'll double check this info. They will also discuss the books, uniforms, supplies and time frames at intake.

Its best to get started on everything early so you can finish ahead of time and get cleared for priority registration which gives you first choice at hospital selections. Also, some immunizations have to be spaced 30 days apart.

Enjoy the the calm before the storm because there will be a lot to do and it will seem overwhelming!

Yes, definitely call and verify your points.

I didn't get in, I had 65 points

Hey everyone another poster ans I have made a fb page so if you've been accepted for fall 2016 click this link

Log into Facebook | Facebook

I didn't get in, I had 65 points

so sorry. I can imagine how you must be feeling. Please don't give up. If you have any room in where you can gain more points, you still have time before the next app period.

I've seen on previous threads that scores were miscalculated by them so you should definitely call and see what's up! They supposedly had over 400 applicants or something so there's room for errors!
