U.S.A. California

any one starting yet? i havent received my letter yet...... i received SBVC and it will be a year wait... but i also applied at RCC..... i was firsy priority on their list so we'll see how that goes

how did everyone do on their TEAS test?

93.5% overall score. I am very glad because a lot of the science caught me off guard, I wasn't expecting so many geology/earth science questions.

What about you? Did you get the score you needed for the points?

Very nice I got 86.9 so hopefully I have enough points.great job Robinson

Great job with the 93.5 and 86.9! I had to admit, I didn't study enough. I only studied the night before the test and decided to just buy the practice online test at 10pm. LOL. I scored a 84%, which I am pretty impressed because I am such a procrastinator. All I wanted was at least a 80% but a 90% would be much better! I did very bad on the physical science part and yes, the sciences threw me off too. Stupid rocks and earth stuff. And I guessed a lot with the physics part. I never took that class!

I am just curious, who are my competitors? I would like to know your RCC points (including the Teas) and other schools you applied to.

I would like to know those who got in (we find out Jan 2010) and their points.

I am getting anxious. So there are less than 300 people taking the Teas and over 600 applied for RCC program?

I will be the first one. I am standing at 80 points. That's final :) It is out of 100. I don't know if 80 is good enough. Hopefully we don't get a lot of straight A's students that scored over 90 on Teas . :) Good luck pre-nursing students! Hope to hear from you again Jan 2010!:yeah:

I have 75 points now, maybe 80 if the decide a 3.48 is close enough to a 3.5. The thing I am wondering is how they are going to accept the final applicants. I'm sure there are going to be several people with the same score. For example: say they have 15 spots left but there are 25 people that have 75 points, how are they going to weed some of them out?

Either way, good luck everyone, and let us know your standing if you got in!

@ Lrobinson,

I know! I thought about the same thing! What if they have 10 ppl with 80 pts. and have room for 3? That is why I think they shouldn't score in increments of 5 points . I have the same science GPA as yours. We are only .02 gpa from getting the damn 5 points. They should really give us 4.5 points or something where the calculations are fair. I spoke with 2 counselors during the nursing info sessions and they both told me they round down. :(

That is why I was like whatever to my Teas test. 80-89 is still 30 points. Oh well...

Someone on allnursing.com told me that RCC might mail out the letters mid Dec. Oh great....what a great Christmas present. LOL. :redbeathe

80 points for me

Yeah the instructor supervising the test said that they might mail them out starting the first week of December. She also said that you shouldn't hold her to that because they had close to 1,000 applications or something ridiculous like that. Apparently they no longer give any preference to current students or even students that live in Riverside County. The enrollment technician said a bunch of people from Northern California applied.

Maybe they will slightly alter their point system, after all this is the first time they're using it, so it may be that a lot will change if the current system causes too many problems.

Just speculating but 75 points and up should be good. Also if we don't get in (God forbid) do we have to take teas again.plus I am pretty sure some people did not finish their pre reqs. Just thinking positively. Ok all let's breathe and just pray lol

gmart,

You do not have to take the TEAS again. In fact, I'm pretty sure if you DO take it again they will count your first score rather than the highest. I wish they would post on the nursing website information about the applicant pool :p of course no matter what they post everyone will still be just as anxious.

What? Northern Cal? I think they should gain their residency for at least 6 months! I was looking at their Dental Hygiene program and is bummed out because first priority goes to people in the RCC district. :( I live 35 mins out. There aren't many DH schools, most are private schools.

Yeah, they should post their statistics. The only answer I keep on getting was it depends on the pool- different semesters, different group apply (didn't help me at all). USC post their stats, UCLA does too and other schools as well. I would like to know my chances before I apply and don't want to waste my drive.
