Raleigh School of Nurse Anesthesia 2019 cohort

Published

Hi all. Starting a thread for those interviewing at Raleigh School of Nurse Anesthesia fall 2019 cohort. Hope to hear from some of you who are interviewing or already have. My interview is next Thursday Nov. 8th! If anyone has some insight, it would be most appreciated. I worked with a couple of nurses who are currently attending Raleigh and they been very helpful prepping for the process.

I have my masters and didn't get in. I know of at least one more who didn't. BJ is sending out emails to inform if you are waitlisted. She said the actual waitlist email should be within a couple weeks.

Specializes in MICU STICU NSICU.

Idk last year 5 people from my unit got in and none of them had masters and one of them was only a nurse for 1 year. This year all 3 from my unit were waitlisted

Hey guys, has anybody received their official emails for being placed on the waitlist yet? I know someone said it may be a couple of weeks, but I was wondering if anyone has received one yet.

Specializes in Current SRNA. CCU, Critical Care Transport.

I did receive an official email stating that I was waitlisted.

This school is such a joke when I interviewed a few years ago... they have clear favoritism for local people (Especially those that worked in the UNC system) and disregard experience and your interview. It's like they already have it made up who they are letting in before the interview... Take your money elsewhere..

For those that are trying to get in don't get discouraged. This was the third year I applied and I got in this year. Make sure you ask for feedback on what you can do to improve your application and do it. Make sure you shadow. Just keep trying. It is a very competitive program and I know of 2 other people that applied and were waitlisted last year. Don't give up if this is what you really want and where you want to obtain your degree! Also, don't put all your eggs in 1 basket! Good luck!

My stats were

GPA 3.9

GRE-300 (originally a 291)

3 years ICU experience (2 in a level 1 trauma center and 1 in a small hospital)

At which hospital do you work?

jwoodyrn1, did you already register for that research class?

Is it NURS 715? Is that a DNP level research course and is it online?

Specializes in Current SRNA. CCU, Critical Care Transport.

It is the 715 class. It will substitute for 705 that is in the CRNA curriculum.

Has anyone else also get official email (from UNCG) that they're waitlisted? I got the unofficial one from BJ, but not the official one yet. Hmmm starting to wonder if I'm the only one :(

I was completely ghosted by the school. BJ never got back to me. Never even sent me an "unofficial" you aren't accepted or waitlisted. So I have no idea where I stand. Just overall shocked by the lack of professionalism in a program that I initially held to such higher standards than my previous experiences.
