I am RN, with 30 years of various nursing backgrounds (variety of work experience in all those years). I am looking for a career that can take me into my retirement years which is not THAT far away anymore. Have looked at the tempting fliers from certain Legal Nurse Consultant program which promises high income in a growing area. What I have read, in one of her books, makes it seem a bit too good to be true. I would love to hear from some who actually are LNC's regarding how to become a LNC, experience required or desired, cost incurred, etc.
Are there any LNC chapters in Western Wisconsin or near there, that I could attend?
Thanks for any input you can offer!

Offhand recall reading more than one comment that people have spent the high fees for this course, but have never done any work as a LNC at all. FWIW, think the amount of legwork etc., required to succeed in this area is too much for someone looking at winding down their career. Have you considered teaching in a nursing program, or even teaching in a CNA program? That seems to be an easier endeavor for someone approaching retirement without the hassles of trying to make something pan out that just isn't out there.
Unfortunately, I do not have a Master's Degree. I am BSN prepared. In our area, you must have MSN, and even some require PhD to teach; CNA programs I have looked at also prefer MSN prepared nurses and are far and few between to find.

It's "preferred", not required; at least try those positions; you may get hired!
