"nursing issues" ideas

Published

I have to write a literature review paper in one of my classes and I just am stuck on ideas for the paper.

For example, nursing shortages was one that was given by the teacher. I don't want to do that one because it seems a lot of people may do that one.

I was going to do something on physician assisted suicide/euthanasia, but my teacher said its to broad and difficult regarding the ethical sides of it.

I am not thinking something to do with bullying between nurses. But I am not sure.

Do you guys have any interesting ideas? I don't know if it helps, but I live in Canada.

Thank you for your help =)

Well, here's a timely topic, one that I'm researching at the moment. "What constitutes a safe patient assignment?" It's a complex topic but one that has the potential to be distilled into something useful at the unit level.

Can you think of any issues that came up during your clinical placements? Med errors, family centered care, consent to treatment, cultural practices with healing, ect.

End of life, euthanasia, medication management is a good one (Ie: how can you safely administer meds in a 30 minute window with an added patient load), safe staffing levels and the effects of burnout, health care challenges associated with an aging population (workforce and patients).

Those are some topics that come to mind. I hope that helps.
