I was in ramp a few years ago for a med error even though the patients, my colleagues all corroborated my story.  Our union rep said tell them you want to go to ramp which I did. 3 years of shelling out hundreds of dollars and going to peer meetings where my psyche was nothing but beat down over and over again. It go to the point I was having severe anxiety even going to them. I was given a return to work date and then that flaming hoop was moved and moved and then moved yet again. I was in financial ruin that that point. I was so fed up and traumatized and ended up with PTSD from it all because they dangle your license in front of you. So after I quit they put a board action on my liscence which I know will be there forever. I miss nursing. I loved it. I was passionate about it and really good at it. I want to restart it but my financial situation is no better and was thinking of moving to TX to be closer to family. Should I start here and then transfer to TX or just wait until I get to tx and just start fresh there? Thanks for reading.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I don't know anything about Texas or RAMP but I'd talk to a licensing attorney in your current state and see what they suggest. (((hugs)))

I was in the AZ Cando program in the early 2000’s and quit. Eventually moved to Texas and applied 5 years ago for a TX license. Took awhile, some hoops, letters of recommendation, proof of sobriety, etc, but I’ve been licensed nearly three years now. I’m doing their program (TPAPN). I’m almost done.

It has been expensive, at the start, with eval and fines, but it’s worth it!

I hate this story! Can I ask:

What kind of med error was it?

How does someone even report you to RAMP? Do they call consumer affairs?
