Hi! Anyone applying to Quinnipiac ABSN Fall 2016? I applied and was hoping to get an idea of stats (e.g. GPA, undergrad major, experience) from those who were previously accepted or those who applied / are applying for this cohort! Trying to get an idea of the applicant pool. Thanks :)
Hi everyone! I'm also a little late in finding this post. I received my acceptance letter in mid March an I will be attending QU in the fall. I am so excited and nervous at the same time! My big thing is housing. I know they don't really offer on campus housing, so I suppose I will just have to look for an apartment? What is everyone else doing about that? And also, does anyone know if we get breaks? Like Thanksgiving or Christmas? Thanks!
Congrats!! I live 10 minutes from QU so I won't be much help in that area! But from what I've heard I think the fall and spring semesters are typical college semesters, so I'm guessing we will get all the breaks that come along with that! It's the summer that is really accelerated, at least that's what I've seen on boards from previous years.
My friend is in the program right now. She had a week off for thanksgiving, two weeks off for Christmas, had to go back to school January 4th for a week-long class, then had around half a week off before spring term, a week off for spring break and then she'll have a week off in between spring and summer term.
BUT the year before, the ABSN cohort had 5 weeks off for christmas and took that week-long class between spring and summer term and didn't have a break between spring and summer.
So this upcoming year could be completely different.
Congrats, guys! Can't wait for the orientation and to finally start in the fall, "dig in" and learn. There's a Facebook group created, I believe if you search for "Quinnipiac Accelerated Nursin Class of 2017" it should pop up. If you will be attending the program and are accepted, come join us, so we can start getting to know eachother. Yay! I'm a little nervous since I'll be working through the first two semesters for sure, even if it's just part time, so hopefully it all works out. No matter how stressful or difficult it may be, it'll just be for a year, and I feel like i can do anything for one year! :)
