Quick Questions.... TRICARE

Hello my fellow allnurses fam!! Just had a question about Tricare. Exactly when does it start? Does it start when you attend OBLC or does it start upon arrival at your first duty station? I would like to know this, as I will be responsible for my son's healthcare this year( single parent stuff). I am scheduled to go to OBLC in October. Any information anyone could provide woul d be very helpful. Thanks

Tricare starts the day you go on active duty.
