Quick question for folks that wear surgical issue green scrubs.

Just curious if anyone who has worn the standard hospital issue green scrubs knows the actual color name. Not sure If it is possible but I would like to buy my own, however I the specific color of the standard blah greens is difficult to determine since I just started (and they are very worn and faded at the hospital). I figure since they issue us our white tops (nurses wear white tops, issue bottom greens) and we are supposed to take them home and launder ourselves, what is the difference in acquiring my "personal" greens? I am tiny and just don't want to wear some crazy different size/style that will drown me. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would love to work in a unit where the hospital furnished and laundered my nasty, germy scrubs....

Enjoy the luxury! Save your money and buy cute clothes for after work!

Are you working or walking the cat walk? I wouldn't worry about being fashion forward at work.Where I work the OR nurses can't wear their own.

Hmm, thanks? I originally thought that I was going to get the bottoms there, be issued tops. I have noticed the sizes are a funny tag, not a measurement. Extra smalls are imaginary, and I was under the impression that I would get two tops. I'm wrong on all of it. However, when the scrubs pants drag on the floor, and get caught in metal things, I don't like it. If I'm going to clean the floor with garments I would rather use the shoe covers. Having pants tied around my ribs doesn't bother me, for the sake of keeping them off the floor. Since, I misunderstood the deal, I don't need help with this question anymore, but thank you to the 2nd person for your remark. Ill appreciate it, should I confuse the OR with a runway.

I am sure the OP knows she at work, working. OP.....Congrats on the new job! You might find the OR will suit you well. Unfortunately the hospitals provide scrubs to the OR staff to minimize the chances of outside contamination with germs and bugs. That is why you change out of your clothes.

Sadly OR scrubs are criminally ugly......they are a far cry from the cool looking sexy staff on greys anatomy. I once worked with a very petite nurse and she would roll the scrubs up and then do this side fold maneuver to make them appear like a cuffed trouser. I'll be someone at your new facility will know what I am talking about. You can also get 2 sided sticky tape to make the same effect. Go to your boss and ask about suggestions they may have about how to make the scrubs for you a little less hazardous for tripping and falling.

Congratulations and good luck!!!!
