Quick (hopefully easy) ? about BIO156 through Rio

U.S.A. Arizona

I'm hoping to get the books needed for this class through half.com or someone cheaper. But unfortunately Rio offers them in a bundle pack. I know which two books I need, and their editions, and have found them for cheaper (except the one, I can only find an earlier addition but I'll wing it with that if I can get away with it).

So the questions are:

1) are there any CDs included in this bundle pack that I'd need?

2) any reason why I couldn't get by with an earlier edition text?

Thanks in advance!

I have to buy those too. I am taking BIO15 through Rio, my class starts 5/14/07. How much they cost through Rio?

I believe around $150 for used ones (if they even HAVE any) through Rio. I don't remember what the new ones would cost -- I imagine over $200.

Wow, it's all so expensive. I'm so glad my company will reimburse me.

AZmom....Im thinking about doing Bio156 this summer too. If I do I will let you know and we can compare notes....(not literally)LOL

We can have a study group....LOL

Ladies, have a wonderful evening. I'm going home.

I took it there about a year ago and didn't need the CD's that came with the books. I'd say you can get by with an earlier edition, but each class is different. I took the 8 week version and have a very strong biology background,so my experience may have been different.

I just finished with my Bio156 class from Rio this last Saturday.. YAY!! :monkeydance: .. It was so stressful for me. I had never taken an online class, Im bad at Biology, & it was the accelerated 8 week class. If you are good at Biology, Im sure it would be no problem.. but it took up all of my free time for those 8 weeks .. after work thats all I did... But no, we didnt need any CD's with the books.. I just sold mine back yesterday so you might be in luck.. I wish I read this before yesterday I probably could have got more for them from you guys than them! Well, good luck!

Thanks for the update!!!

I'm re-reviewing an old general Biology textbook I bought off of half a while back. My plan is to spend the next month doing so and seeing how well I feel I know the material. There is an online quiz center that follows the chapters, so I'll test myself that way.

If I do poorly, then I'm signing up for the last Spring session (16 wks) of BIO156. And if I do well, I'm going to go for Micro instead (again the 16 week session).

I am taking this class too. Mine starts May 19th though and it is online. I have been trying to find that book cheaper too but Rio is the only place I have found it. I am also trying to find a book for MAT122, any ideas?

Woohoo, going back to school to be a :nurse:!!!
