Hi everyone! I am so confused with my future in Nursing. My first question would be where are the best TEAS study guides for Test V? And exactly how hard is it and what subject are hardest? && do they tak it out your financial aide to pay for it & if not how much??
My second thing I am worrying about is since going to Ivy Tech my mother has been having health issues. She has been having Gan Mal Seziures. It has been overwhellming and getting worse. Well, because of this both times I took English I got a C the first semester and a B the second. Well at Ivy Tech I heard that you pretty much have to get all A's in APHY 101, APHY 102, PSYC 101, and ENGL 111. They won't let me take it another time && I am so worried I am wasting my time. I don't think I will get in because of the B in English. I just don't want to go through all this school and nothing come out of it.
&& if you don't get in what would you do? Switch career paths to something easier that your credits would go for or just try again? Because if you didn't get in the first time I don't see why you would the second. PLEASE HELP DESPERATE!!!!!!!

I used a general TEAS test study guide that I found at Barnes and Noble for $16. There are TEAS test guides printed by ATI, and I think you need to go to their website for that. I paid $50 to take the test, I don't think financial aid will cover that expense.
I would continue with your studies and make sure you get A's in the remaining classes, a B in English isn't bad, I think schools are mainly concerned with the sciences, however, maybe you might want to retake the class you earned a C in.
Some of the pre-reqs aren't easy, but as with most things it is what you make of it.

Yea I am totally broke. lol. I have no money to pay for the study guides or this test. but that is what the refund is for! lol. But you seriously think even with the B I could get in? I just heard it is extremely hard to get in. && dont know what I will do if I do't get in

I failed the TEAS V a week ago, I could't believe it!! I studied so much and still failed..but good thing I had already taken the HESI test and passed that a while back..so that fixed my chances of getting into nursing school..when you take the TEAS skip everything you do not know and answer the ones you know for sure..this was what skrewed me up I spent too much time on a question instead of skipping it..GOOD LUCK!!

What region of ivy tech are you wanting to apply for the nursing program? The scores vary depending on which one. As far as the B in english, its one of the classes that is worth less poiints than anp 101 & 102. I think if you have A's in the other 3 classes and a solid teas v score you still have a good chance. That B will cost you 5 points which can easily be made up with the teas v. I applied to ivy tech before the requirements changed and I did not get it. However I had 2 B's. I decided to change my plan and applied to IU's BSN program and got in the first try. There's many classes they look at, not just 4, and I had a gpa of 3.65 and a teas of around 84 (I don't remember the exact score). I guess what im saying is don't put all your eggs in one basket. Have a back up plan. If this is truly what you want then you can make it happen. Feel free to ask me anything else. Good luck.

Do not skip a question you don't know. It is counted as wrong if it is blank. It's better to guess and have a 25% chance of getting it right, as opposed to skipping it with a 100% chance of getting it wrong.
when you take the test skip to the questions that are easy, do the hard ones last.. keep looking at how much time you have left..the science portion was the hardest for me it had a lot of chemistry in it.. i was mad b/c i did not get not one balancing equation problem.. the questions were tougher, more like if you take this it will produce what substances to make bla bla something like that..i read that book like 4 times and let me tell you the test was almost NOTHING like it!! i was very mad because the test format wasn't even similar in content..the test was more based on what you know by heart, more like what information stuck with you in chemistry etc..i only saw like 4 questions that came directly from the book everything else was stuff that I guess they expect you to know since you have already taken science courses..i was expecting the test to be like the HESI.. if you have taken the hesi then you know it is very similar to the real thing..the questions are based off of the hesi study guide..this TEAS test is not based off of their study guide, their test is very, very hard..if you are excellent in chemistry then I would't worry..but if you are weak at it then it is going to be tough..i took the TEAS online practice exam and scored a 64 and i thought it was hard, i soon realized, that was nothing compared to the real thing, the real test was much more harder than the practice test which is why i scored a 50! well i think it was cause i spent too much time on one question instead of marking it for later..read the question if your not sure of the answer just guess then mark it to review later (this is what i should have done instead of wasting too much time on 1 question)..i think you can also just skip them and after you have answered all the ones you know, the ones you didn't answer will then show up for you to answer..take the hesi test as well if you have not done so..you will see how much easier it is than this beast of the TEAS V..well good luck and let me know how you did..

Veggie lady every time I go to my Borders I can't find anything. So now you're saying the teas v study guide is $16. Maybe I will check it out online. Thanks for the tip.

I took the the test twice. I had ALOT of the same questions the second time but I also had different ones. The math seemed harder the second time; however, none of my friends/family have had to take the TEAS for their programs so I have nothing to compare with my experience.

Hello, I know its to personal to ask... but does your program require to pass the teas in every section with 62% after you have taken it once and failed? You see i took it today and didn't pass. I studied like if there was no tomorrow. I went in there confident thinking i had covered and understood everything they had on the practice book but i guess it wasn't good enough. In my experience there was many questions in the science section that wasn't covered on their practice book. Did you pass it the second time around?? Has anyone passed it the second time around? Do you have any books that you recomend? Or how did you study to pass it?
