Depends how the LTC regulations are written in your state. Where I live it is one RN for every 50 residents in a 24 hour period. DON, ADON, Inservice RN, Quality Improvement RN all count so 200 patients with NO direct RN care givers unless on the Meidcare unit. Medicare unit one RN each shift. Good Luck.

I am wondering, if anyone knows the indiana law, on LPN's working night shift, as only nurse in LTC facility, with two CNA's? In my years of Nursing, I haven't had this come up, it would be caring for about 58 residents, which made me, a bit uncomfortable....thanks for any input......
