Questions about RRT

Published

I have an interview next week for a med-surg unit, and they told me I'm going to be asked questions about MI, HF, blood administration, and RRT. I'm reviewing information on all of this but I can't think of what they could ask about RRT. What type of questions have you been asked during an interview about RRT or any of the other topic?

Probably, just be able to verbalize what a rapid response is, when you use it, how it varies from a code blue, and how it saves lives.

Specializes in Critical Care, Education.

Oh good grief. I interpreted it as "Registered Respiratory Therapist" & was thinking - why in the world would they ask you about that?? LOL. Brain is obviously getting old.

Back on the right track now... rapid response teams. There are standard guidelines as to when you should summon the RRT - if you are familiar with these, you should be OK. Here is a link to IHI with that information Establish Criteria for Activating the Rapid Response Team

Best of luck on your interview. Let us know how it turns out.
