Questions about nursing in SE Texas

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I am interviewing with St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Beaumont, TX and was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on what the hospital is like. I am originally from Seattle and have never been there. It has magnet status but I would still greatly appreciate some feed back on what it is like to work there, life there, any information that would be helpful.

Thank you so much!

can't help you out on work there, just know that my mom lives in Bmt, and has been to St.E as a pt and has been unhappy each time she has went for one reason or another. I have also heard others say they do not like the hospital b/c of nursing, layout, techs, etc.

mom loves Bmt area and would not live anywhere else at this time.

Never lived or worked in Beaumont so can't comment on that but there are a lot of people from the Beaumont area working in the Houston/Galveston area hospitals and report getting better wages and working conditions here. I never hear of anyone leaving the Houston area for greener pastures in Beaumont.

Just in my experience here in SE Texas, most people (if not all) who say that they love it there and would never live anywhere else are originally from the area. It's a very "native son" type of town where most people who live there were born and raised there.

Not saying that it's necessarily a bad thing, maybe it's just what you are looking for. My Beaumont native co-workers and friends seem to like it there and wish that they could make Houston wages and still live there.
