Questions, help welcomed please

Just started nursing school, we have no books or anything and they gave us some questions, was wondering if you guys could help seeing that the only thing I know so far is med term!

1. Your client has severe CHF with edema in her lower extremeties. Why is it necessary that she receive good skin care?

when I read that question, I thought same reason you'd give good skin care to anyone, but im sure theres more to it when dealing with CHF something I havent gotten fimilar with yet, any help?

2. Why is it necessary for a client to weigh daily when on Furosemide?

is it to check for fluid retention?

Because the edema causes the skin to be easily prone to breakdown.

You have to protect from breakdown.

2. Why is it necessary for a client to weigh daily when on Furosemide?

is it to check for fluid retention?

Yes, daily weights are more accurate that I and O measurements to see if there is fluid retention/is the Lasix succeeding in fluid being excreted.

I know! We get books next week, she just gave us some questions and told us to find the answers out, ive read online some material over CHF and lasix but I couldnt pin point the answer she would be wanting, thanks for ya'lls help though.

Does the school have a library? You could have found both those answers on the internet. I'm not intending to sound mean, but part of getting an education is figuring out where and how to find the answers. Nobody minds helping, but you need to do some of hte work, too.

Im not intending to sound mean, but I did say I was searching on the internet and been reading articles a few post up, and one of her statements was "call a hospital to find out a drug store whatever" so I thought this would be a good place also.

Anyways, thank you for the those who have helped out or steered me in the direction :).
