I am a foreign bsn graduate and i am planning to join the army nurse corps, unfortunately i dont qualify as an officer because i am a foreign graduate. i spoke with an army recruiter and told me that i can join the army as an E-4. I am on the process of getting my masters degree right now. Would it be better for me to join now as an E-5 and then finish my masters and be commisioned or finish my masters first and join the army nurse corps?

did you speak with a general army recruiter or an AMEDD recruiter? That makes a huge difference in what you're told.. b/c the regular army wants you to go enlisted and go through all these hoops to be in the medical field but the AMEDD (army medical dept) recruiters ONLY deal with the medical side of things and know exactly what would be best for you. I figured this out after 3-4 weeks of dealing with the regular army while going to school.. tried telling me that i should go to school full time, be in the reserves, and join as a medic... not even close to what was the BEST choice! that said, talk to an amedd recruiter :)
I talked with a general army recruiter, but i will contact a medical recruiter, thanks for the reply.

She's right ... the local general recruiters were ready to sign me up on the spot, even though I was 6 months from my BSN at the time. They're looking for numbers, not what's right for you. They also gave me incorrect information because they're just not that familiar with the nursing side of things.
You can find your closest AMEDD recruiter using this form on the Army site: http://www.goarmy.com/FindARecruiterAmeddNurse.do
