I just got home from taking NCLEX, it shut off at 75 questions! I have no idea if I did well or if I did bad! I keep replaying certain questions over and over and I think I got them wrong!!

This is torture! :banghead: :uhoh3:

I feel like crying!!! Please tell me this normal right after NCLEX!

It must be normal since these "75 Questions, I'm so stressed out!" threads are very common here at Allnurses! :lol2:

Good luck, you probably passed.

You pass, mostly. The computer will keep adding questions if you got some ques wrong untill 265 ques. It keeps testing your knowledge as a new nurse. Wait 2-7 days and checked your name at FL dept of health list of med. license (free) Good luck!:yeah:

This response to the NCLEX is within normal limits.

My test shut off at 75 as well. I was so sure I had failed, I even told the woman at the testing center that I'd see her again soon. Yikes!

The wait is excruitating, I completely understand. I chose to think about it this way: Worst case scenario - I've failed. What do I do next? What are my options now? I found out what I would need to do in the event that I failed, how soon I could take it again, etc. Plan for a good cry and move on. Best Case Scenario - I passed! Proceed with all the plans I've been making throughout school.

IN THE MEANTIME - Let go of what isn't in your control. You did your best, now it's time to rest a bit, do something you haven't had time to do .... like catch up on movies you've missed, a long bath and a good non-nursing book (remember those?) or meet friends for dinner ..... all without the "I should be studying" guilt!

I was happy that I passed. I was prepared if I hadn't. Ultimately that's all you can ask of yourself. You survived nursing school (about which an LPN said to me at one point "Nurses eat their young.") so you can survive the next few days! Best wishes for your success!

I recently read in an ATI pamphlet that said the NCLEX computerized adaptive testing (CAT) expects that you will only answer about 50% of the questions right. So with that tidbit, now I understand why there so many posts like this, where smart people think they failed. 50% correct would be 'failing' on a normal exam (gee, C-/C is failing for nursing school!), so it makes sense that you may be convinced you failed, when in fact you are likely to have passed.
