I have a couple of questions about alcoholics, if anyone out there has some answers for me.
I have never had to live with an alcoholic, so I don't know much about the disease.
However, I think someone in my family has a problem.
My questions are, if there has been total silence in a room for several minutes, can an alcoholic suddenly start telling someone to be quiet and shut up? Like they thought someone else in the room had been talking, but they had not, and assuming, of course that the alcoholic was drinking or had been drinking at the time.
My next question is are alcoholics very thirsty the next day after having been drinking the night before?
I know the usual symptoms that are hard to miss, like staggering, falling down drunk, slurred speech, erratic driving, but I have not seen these USUAL symptoms in this person, but the 2 things I'm asking about I have seen or someone else has seen.

If the alcoholic has been drinking it can happen. It's called alcohol induced psychosis. However, please don't jump to conclusions as there are many disease and disorders that can cause this type of irrational behavior. Good luck!

The drinking a lot the next day can be credited to the dehydration brought on by the alcohol.
Or the person lives in a hot climate and they're really thirsty. :)
