Hello everyone,
I was wondering what type of marks I need to be accepted into the 2nd entry program at York. Can someone who has already been accepted shed some light on this? Thanks a lot.

Hey there, on the website it says you need atleast a C+ (5.0 on a 9.0 scale) and a B on your last 30 credits. You also need to complete a bunch of prerequisites. I was accepted with early admission but I think it was because I am already at York in the Kinesiology program and my average was above what they recquire. Have you already completed a degree or are you en route for graduation? :)

Hey,
I haven't completed my degree yet, I'll be done next April. So far my average is ~77.4%, but that's because of a horrible first year. Also, the only credits I have left to get are microbiology, philosophy and humanities. Do you think I can get accepted with a 77% avg (80ish in the last 30credits)?
Thanks for your help!
Yes, I believe so!! The minimum is a C+ and you have a B+ and A in the last 30 credits. They also offer conditional acceptances contingent upon completion of the prereqs if you are enroute to completing them :wink2:

You may want to consider. I am about to finish the program there. I can speak for almost everyone in the program when I say that the nursing school does not have their act together. We have all experienced frustration over the duration of our program. The 12 week strike did not help, but there were so many other issues. When the former director of nursing was still around, things were amazing. We had the chance to have her as our teacher 1st semester. Now someone else has taken over who does not bother to even introduce herself to the student body, she does not practice what the school's philosophy is. I strongly advise you go anywhere but York, it was a horrible experience and I can't wait to leave.

Can you describe in detail the things that changed? Harder courses, tight deadlines etc..
I've actually thought about it a lot and come to the conclusion that I'm not going to go to York or UofT unless I get rejected from all the other schools. I'm going to move away from home (I'm currently studying while living at home) to gain some independence and hopefully start my adult life.
Thanks for the heads up though, appreciate it.
