Hi guys,
I have questions regarding visa screen. I wonder how long it will take, because my hospital will sponsor me with green card. Since we are under retrogression, the lawyer hasn't started my case yet. I want to know how long the process with take to do visa screen and paper work stuff. I am really worried, because if the window opens, my document wouldn't be ready.

Usually it is approximately within 2-3 mos. upon receipt of all requirements. Even faster if transcripts are coming from a US School.
You may visit www.cgfns.org for the latest processing time. They just came out with a newsletter saying that they are averaging considerably faster than what I mentioned depending on w/c country the transcripts are coming from.

There is also just a small chance that it will even become current for this year, esp. if coming from Phil., China and India.

In addition to what sir lawrence01 has said, VS is not yet required to start the green card petition EB-3. It's either the CGFNS CERTIFICATE or passing the NCLEX-RN exam that is required, as a minimum to start the process.

The person did not state if they were going to be going thru AOS or the CP processing and it is required for the AOS processing as the file must be complete when it is submitted now.
The person stated that they wanted to be ready when the window opened so one would assume the AOS.

Thanks for the information. Hehe, sorry, I missed that one...
I am sorry. I am so lost of what you are talking about. My case is that I graduated from the U.S last Dec. with BSN degree. I am currently working in a hospital. I passed my NCLEX in this Jan. I didn't have VS. I heard that for international students even we had education in the U.S, we still have to go through visa screen. Can you gus let me know the process? I assume is 1) NClex 2) visa screen 3) petition ? Please let me know. Thank you very much.
And also, If they haven't started my case now, they might not able to submit my documents in July If (I mean If) window opens.
The detailed procedure is on the visa screen handbook located on their website. Your nursing school needs to send the transcripts, and the applicant needs to send proof of passing NCLEX to them and as well as proof of passing either TOEFL or IELTS. Average processing time is on the link the I gave on my other post.
You need to have the VSC on hand just in case a window opens up and by the way you post you were already properly advised that that is something that may or may not happen. Just be prepared just in case. For a petition (I-140) to be started, you only have to give a copy of proof of passing the NCLEX, as well as a copy of the VSC certificate for the AOS (I-485). The I-485 is the one that can only be filed when the Visa Category becomes current - the window that your lawyer was talking about and no one exactly knows when that will happen or if even it will ever happen at all, or how long it will last.
It takes about a month to get if you graduated from an US program.
Seriously doubt that it will open in July, almost impossible to it to do so due to the significant number of petitions that were submitted this past summer. You will be able to submit the I-140, but nothing more and the I-485 is what is needed for you to remain in the country.
If you are not already planning to attend school for getting an additional degree, please be aware that you will be able to remain in the US only for 60 days after the OPT is done if there is not the open window.
