Hi,
I have some questions about Tufts New England Medical Center. I am a new grad and would love to work there. And I am just trying to find some information about the different floors and the nurses, physicans that work there. Do they have a general surgical floor and if so what is it like? Would it be a good floor for a new grad to work on? Any other comments/ suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!!!! :nuke:

Good luck getting in there. Yes, they do have a general surgical floor, which I interviewed for when I graduated in May. (I had previously worked there for more than a year as a nursing technician on one of the medical floors.) They wanted to hire all the nursing techs that graduated, but because of budget issues they weren't able to hire even ONE of us. I know someone involved in hiring there, and she said all they were able to hire this fall was a handful of experienced ICU nurses---zero new grads.
I loved working there, and wished I didn't have to leave. I was repeatadly told that as a former tech, I was on the "top of the pile" for those they'd hire when they could...but they just can't. I have since found another job, so maybe things have changed there, but I doubt it.
Don't want to rain on your parade, but I just figured honest info was best. It is VERY tough to get into any of the Boston hospitals right now, NEMC included.
However, feel free to PM me if you want more info about the hospital.

JMP Tufts has been on a hiring freeze forever now. They are not taking new grads at this time.
