First of all, Im new here. My name is Sage and Im 22, from Waterloo, Iowa.
Im also a fairly new student, this is my 3rd semester of school. Im taking pre-req's at a community college for a BSN program at another school. I was just wondering if any of you have some tips on time management/organization with school work? Im lucky enough to be a stay at home mom, but my toddler wont leave me alone and my fiance works long, 2nd shift hours so its hard to find alone time.
Here to hoping that there are some snazzy non trad students here (or not, Im not picky! ) that have some good tips!
Nice to meet you all, btw.

Hi -
I'm new to this board as well - I actually start my 1st semester this summer! CAn't wait!! Like you, I am a stay-at-home mommy as well - 2yr old and 4yr old - I already have a "plan"....maybe this will help....
1. Nap time - is cram time! lol
2. The kids wake up at 8 a.m., be up by 7 a.m. studying!
3. I don't let my girls watch T.V. but 2 times a day - from 45 mins - 1 hr each time - when they do get to watch it, they are distracted for at least 1 hr..: if you let them have at the TV constantly, it's not a "prize" to watch it....
4. I have "book" time with my girls...once in the a.m- and in the p.m. - for at least 1/2 hr, they read or look at their own books quietly---(I do not read to them at this time) and this will hopefully help me out when I can join in and read my own "book"!!!
5. I plan on using my parents or my in-laws at least one day Sat./Sun. for a few hours for what ever is "left over" to do...Grandparents are GREAT!!!
I hope this helps...

I'm not a parent, but time management is something I have to be careful of regardless. I find not being home is helpful for focused studying- can you arrange care to get you your classes an hour early/stay an hour late each time? Also, I try to really actively pay attention during lectures- ask questions until I understand something and never just figure that I'll work it out at home. Oh yeah, and try to be disciplined about internet usage That's my big downfall.

haha I have a micro exam on 4 chapters (well parts of the chapters) wednesday and my flashcards have gum on them from when I forgot to spit it out before my nap LOL
I agree with getting to class early, or staying late. Youre mentality is totally different at school.
