I'm taking a CNA course in a few weeks and they require us to purchase all white scrubs (eeeek)! Is it okay to wear a tank top or cami under my top for some extra coverage?
** i don't really have any nude colored bras to wear under a white top...anyone know where to get a nude tank top/cami?
Don't be fooled by the "Can't See Through Me" advertising - ALL student whites are see-through to varying degrees! In school, I always wore white light-weight baselayer tights (Patagonia Capilene, Under Armour, whatever was on sale) under my scrub bottoms, and either a white light-weight baselayer shirt (three-season) or a mock turtleneck (winter) under my scrub top. No way was I going to get caught showing off my "assets" on the floor!
Thankfully, ciel blue is a little less see-through, but I still wear the same undergarment combo at work - as other posters have said, some units tend to be chilly, and the baselayer garments are also great for temperature and moisture control in hot conditions.
Hope this helps!
Ever since nursing school clinicals, I have worn an extra shirt under my scrub top. I originally started wearing a shirt underneath because my nursing school scrubs had a low v-neck. Also because in case I got something on my scrub top, at least I would have a little barrier between my scrub top and my skin.
I continue to wear a shirt underneath my scrub top now for work. And now I realize there is yet another reason to do so, and that is because it sometimes gets cold on our floor, esp. in our break room. Also this winter has been unusually cold.
