question regarding some requirements for nclex testing for a foreign graduate

Published

Greetings everyone,

I have a friend who is a foreign graduate and is applying for the nclex examination in the state of CA. The BON is requiring documents from her that unfortunately have been lost and there are no copies considering the school only has paper documentations and nothing electronic. Is there anything that can be done or submitted in lieu of the missing documents? I believe the documents have something to do with clinical rounds/ requirements that have been completed per subject or topic. I'm not entirely sure but I'll confirm. The school has certified that all clinical credits or requirements have been completed but I guess the CA BON needs the individual signed forms of each clinical course or something like that. Please advise. Thank you very much. :)

Hi, I think the best thing you can do is contact your BON again, see if there's everything she can submit in place of it. I am a foreign educated nurse too. Got my BSN in the Philippines. When I applied for NCLEX in New Hampshire, my transcripts & Phil. nursing license had to go through CGFNS (directly from my school & licensing commission to CGFNS). They processed/verified them then sent them to NH BON after. She might be able to do that, that way she doesnt have to provide her records for the surgeries/deliveries she assisted in (if that's what she's missing). But I don't know bc every state is kinda different. Two of my classmates are RNs in CA and I think they kinda did the same thing I did. But I'll try to check w/ them and I'll get back to you when I can.

Thank you very much for responding. Please do get back to me if you get any more information. I'll tell my friend about the cgfns.

Moved to the International forum,Suggest you read this forum as CA have changed things and several nurses from the Philippines are having issues and your friend may have the same issues
