Hello everyone :)
Sometimes getting a hold of the board can be a pain (at least for me!) so I figured I would ask here.
I just got my license this week (the NCLEX is finally over!) but why does my license expire at the end of October? Paying the renewal fee won't bother me, but I mean, I just got it!

your birthday I assume just look on Texas BON website they have questions and answers to when licenses expire! You dont need to call them. Congrats also!
Thank you! I have been searching on the BON website and I can't find anything about it...maybe I'm looking in the wrong place!
RULE 217.5Temporary License and Endorsement
D. Upon initial licensure by endorsement, the license is issued for a period ranging from six months to 29 months depending on the birth month. Licensees born in even-numbered years shall renew their licenses in even-numbered years; licensees born in odd-numbered years shall renew their licenses in odd-numbered years.
I hope this answers your question sorry I thought it was under the FAQ section but sometimes you have to actually have to read the rules to find answers. Good luck.

Most states have a standard cutoff point for license renewal and that date is putting you into your correct spot in the cycle. After the first renewal, you will have the same amount of "license" time each renewal period.

I was looking under the Licensure FAQ section, that explains why :) Thank you for clearing this up!
