I graduate in December and I'm about to start applying to a lot of GN residencies/internships. Most of the ones I've looked at require at least 2 recommendation letters or forms from two different instructors and in my case about half of those require that one of the instructors be my peds clinical instructor (since that is what I want to go into). My question is, do I ask the two instructors to write/fill out the recommendation and make like 10 copies, or do I ask multiple instructors to do the letters? What have you all done about letters? Thanks! :redbeathe

I did both. I asked for general letters of rec from about about 5-6 people, all of whom agreed. They each gave me multiple copies. Also, some of them volunteered to write me a letter geared towards a specific unit, should I need it.

My references were aware that they would need to make more than one recommendation and were ok with that. It is too cumbersome to try to keep up with too many different recommendations, but it does not hurt to get more than two or three. Be sure to keep copies for future use and have copies placed in your school file in case you need them in the future and the instructor is no longer associated with the school.
