does anyone know if a pelvic ultrasound shows the appendix? i've been having some right and left sided lower quad pain .. i don't want medical advice.. but never heard of a pelvic ultra sound to r/o appendix usually they are for ovaries and other things.. i have to drink tons of water , then race to the radiology.... anyway i just wondered.... i am showing no symptoms of appendicitis other than the pain in the right lower quad.... thank you all in advance !!!:yeah::yeah:

I know some pediatricians who have used U/S to R/O appendicitis. However, they say it usually works well on peds because they're smaller and most of them are very thin. It also takes a skilled U/S tech, but most techs nowadays don't know how to do it because the CT is the gold standard. But I'm with you, I wouldn't want a CT unless absolutely necessary.

Possibly looking for fluid where it's not supposed to be, or maybe a translady partsl sonogram?... those ovaries can be pesky when they want to be. People can get fibroids shooting out of the uterus in all kinds of wacky directions.
