I'm now doing an assignment on writing a nursing care plan. I am puzzled about the choose of nursing diagnosis for the following situation:
Mr. Lee refused the nurse to perform wound dressing. He claimed that wound dressing was useless and he applied over-the-counter medication on the wound by himself.
Should I choose Noncompliance or Risk for infection as the nursing diagnosis?
Thank you

I think both of those work but there are others as well unless you are working with a multiple choice type thing.

Knowledge deficit is exactly what I was thinking too.
If you really think about it, it's pretty easy. KNOWledge. He does not KNOW the benefit of a wound dressing nor the downside of going without one. Patient teaching is crucial here.
Your other diagnoses are good, but knowledge defecit takes priority. Just like an NCLEX question. All are right, but which is the MOST right? Lol.
