I'm transffering to TWU in denton...

and i'm listed as biology bs academic program...if i continue to take classes that are for nursing curriculm can i still apply to the nursing program after my sophmore year...or do i just take the classes for four years and get to go straight to nursing school?

Unfortunately I think your best answer is going to come from an academic advisor at your school.

Best of luck!

I was a computer Engineering major in my freshman year back in 2003 but I never took any computer classes. I started my nursing prerequisites and did a intra-university tranfer in my first semester even before I began any courses. I wasn't accepted until after all my prerequisites were complete but I made sure the nursing school department knew me. I kept visiting them and updating them about my grades and my progress. I made good grades and an almost perfect GPA because in my school they had like 75 spots for over 1500 applications so you had to be very good.

Has your new school accepted all your credits from the previous school?

If so then I would go ahead and place intra-university transer from Biology to Nursing. See the nursing school academic advisor and inform her of your plans to transfer to nursing. Let her know which classes you have taken and which ones you are yet to complete. Finish the remaining pre-requisites for nursing school and keep going to the nursing school academic advisor and inform her of your progress and also let them know when all your prerequisites are completed. Make sure you get good grades because Nursing school admission is very competitive.

Good luck!!

I would also second the suggestion that you talk with an academic advisor. TWU has stringent requirements to be admitted to their program and you don't want to "miss the boat."

Good luck.
