Question? I can't decide...

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Specializes in None, Hope to learn as much as I can.

I have just found out that the school I am at right now will not be offering a night nursing program for the next two years. Which really stinks because I was getting ready to apply for 2010. Any ways. I have found a few other schools in the area but they don't offer an RN program only and LPN program.

So what I would like to know is would it worth it for me to do the LPN program then do the rest online. I don't really know how that LPN to BSN programs work. I already have my LNA and I just want to get this figured out before I start working and getting so far in my pre-reqs that I lose my mind. I have about 4 classes left of my pre-reqs. I just can't seem to find what I am looking for as far as understanding how the LPN to BSN works and if it would worth it for me to get my LPN first or just keep looking and stick it out for my RN.

Any advice you can offer I will take it I am so confused right now and I don't know if I can handle much more.

hmm, that's a tough choice. i probably would wait to be admitted into a fall-starting program. i know the wait is hard!

on the other hand, i have heard of many success stories from people that have completed their rn work via online colleges but it is important to research any limitations that an online degree may have in your state.

There are so many factors at play should you decide to enter a distance program for your RN. It really would be a better route if you could possibly attend a regular program. Reserve consideration of a distance program unless you feel there is absolutely no way you could do a traditional program. There are too many people who start distance programs, then never finish. Some go back to traditional programs, others never finish at all, and have wasted all that time and money. Go into the program that you are most equipped for succeeding at. Good luck.
